Jason – Drums
My name is Jason Bohl and I’m a drummer. If you dislike drummers, then I feel sorry for you. If you love drummers, then you’re a very wise person and know what’s good for you and your soul. Being a drummer, I’ve heard just about every stereotypical joke there is… like, What’s the biggest lie a drummer has ever been told? “Hang on a minute and I’ll help you unload your gear…” or, a personal favorite, How do you get a drummer off your doorstep? “Give him money for the pizza…”.
Anyway, I guess you want the nitty gritty details of my life, so here it goes. I was born and raised in Southern California to a very supportive mother and father who love music, so naturally, I took up playing music at a young age. I tried my hand at a few instruments before settling down with the drums, but drums were always my main interest. After moving to the Seattle area during my high school years, I became involved with numerous local bands that played everything from Jazz to Hard Rock and everything in between. By that time, I began taking lessons only to find out how much I hated the theory behind what I was playing. I just wanted to play what felt good. Instead, I locked myself in my parents’ basement with headphones and my drums and began playing along to my favorite records. Many months and neighborly noise complaints later, I finally found my voice on the drums.
By the time I began to attend college, I had met some very influential people of which I’m honored to call close friends now, and was performing with some big acts and began building the foundation that is now my career in music. As a result of those friendships, I’ve had the honor and privilege to perform with the likes of American Idol finalists Danny Gokey and Blake Lewis, Daniel Bedingfield, Ricky Skaggs, Roby Duke, Michael Peterson, Sirens Sister (formerly Vendetta Red), Project Lionheart and Crystal Lewis to name a few. I’ve also shared the stage with BB King, Pearl Jam, Tower of Power and Sublime.
Which brings us to the present. I met Eclectic Approach while in between bands and absolutely fell in love with the music and the work ethic the guys have. Longer story short, I auditioned, joined the band and now we’re in it to win it!
Stop by and say hey at a show! If ya tell me a new drummer joke that I’ve never heard, I just might buy ya a drink.
